mountain flowers, exotic Trekking is a passion with the visitors to Ponmudi
(al-titude: 1066m), lying within easy driving distance from Trivandrum.
You will find yourself compulsively pausing every now and then to drink in deep
the spectacular sweep of the hill range, tea-estates and the imlstcovered valleys,
peppered with little to -like stone cottages painted a pretty violet, pilnk,
or white with pointed and peaked roofs. Ponmudi throws up other surprises too.
Orchids, for in-stance, thrive in wild profusion. A charming deer park is only3
kms away from the resort. And Golden valley -another pretty picnic spot endowed
with batural springs-is a little further down the hill.
